A Deeper Relationship with the Unconscious
Jungian analysis is a form of depth psychology that explores the relationship between consciousness and the unconscious.
It begins with the recognition that we are often influenced by aspects of ourselves that we do not fully understand.
- A recurring relationship pattern.
- A dream that stays with us.
- A strong emotional reaction.
- A sense that something in life is missing.
- A transition that changes the way we see ourselves.
These experiences can become openings into a deeper psychological exploration.
Individuation
C G Jung described individuation as the lifelong process of becoming more fully who we are.
It is not about becoming perfect or creating an idealized version of ourselves.
Rather, it involves developing a more conscious relationship with the many dimensions of the psyche—including those parts of ourselves that we may have rejected, overlooked, or never had the opportunity to know.
Jungian analysis can be particularly meaningful during periods of transition, including the second half of life, when previously successful ways of living may no longer provide the same sense of meaning.
The Analytic Relationship
Analysis takes place through a sustained relationship between analyst and analysand.
We explore what emerges between us as well as what is happening in your life outside the consulting room.
Dreams, memories, relationships, fantasies, feelings, and associations can all become part of this exploration.
The goal is not to impose an interpretation, but to create a space where psychological meaning can emerge.
