All of our lives revolve around relationships, in our personal world, in our work, in life in general relationships are what moves us and makes us who we are. The quality of our relationships determines to a great degree the quality of our lives. My grandmother used to tell me that the most important decision in life was choosing our partner, as this person, will bring the best qualities of ourselves or the darkest ones to our lives.
Investing our time on healing our relationships specially the ones we have with our parents will have a tremendous influence on the other relationships we have with others as well as our ability to relate in different parts of our lives. Many spiritual teachings say that if you are having financial difficulties then the relationship with your father needs to be healed and if you are having one challenge after another, then the relationship with your mother needs tending.
Make a commitment with yourself to heal your relationships. The process of forgiveness and seeking forgiveness is life changing. Take a few minutes each day and contemplate on forgiveness, look inside and ask yourself who you need to forgive and who you need to seek forgiveness from, include yourself in this process. Many times, we need to start with ourselves.
